Israel is flirting with becoming a theocracy while endangering the lives of people who declare themselves to be Jewish with all the risk that such a declaration entails in many places in the world, such as Russia, or any part of the Muslim world. Israel was established with U.S. support to provide a safe haven for Jews, without regard to the degree of their belief.
