It is precisely because Israel does not have the "appropriate legal framework" - appropriate for a liberal democracy - that single-sex and mixed-religious couples are compelled to go abroad to be married. It is precisely because Israeli law follows trend-setting Canadian law that single-sex marriage should be made, not only acceptable, but practical in Israel. It is precisely because of such legal black holes that established communities and Israeli-born adults do not legally exist.
