the state should buy this land from the palestinian owners at a much higher price than it`s worth, and be done with the story. The current residents can stay where they are and the rightful owners can take a large sum of money and use it to start building a new home on land guaranteed to stay in the PA. We all know how this would end otherwise: Ma`aleh Adumin would stay in Israel anyway after the final borders were drawn and the Palestinians would simply lose and have an even harder fight.
I know we can grumble that the money will come from our taxes, but hey, if your taxes aren`t going to welfare or good dental care, it might as well go to placating both sides. |
