The only way to drag our country into the 20th century (let`s not be too ambitious!), is to institute civil marriage for all those who want it. I can`t believe we put up with being held hostage by the religious establishment. Those who want a short civil ceremony should be allowed to have one. Those who see beauty in a religious ceremony should be able to make that choice, too. Oh well, we can only dream!
