| Now that he is on his way out, Mr. Annan wants to leave with us a man of grat integrity whose main concern is the welfare of the poor and the displaced, and those that live under corrupt regimes and fanatics. But, sadly we know that he gad shown in many case that his motivations are not all that universal not all that humanistic. Under his perview not only as a UN Secretary-Gemneral but as a high UN officer, way back in Cambodia, way close in Rowanda and even closer Darfur, Somalia, Chad and on and on. Sad, so sad, that a man with great promesses has fettered them away for a corrupt and incompetence. Is it late to redeem himself, not never too late, but it is too little for those who have suffered, and for those who are still suffering for his, Annan, derelict imcompetent one sided ruling. Sure, one may brings in the fact that the Arab-Islamic nations number a lot of voices in the General Assembly, and that reduce Mr. Annan room for good Chairmanship: that is only a small part of the problem, the Charter does allow him (Remenber Hamarshild) to impose his own moral dictate. Good luck to Mr. Annan for the futur, I don`t know whether his latest vo;te-face will give him any historical respat. |
