Even in my day, tanks were sitting ducks, slow moving & cumbersome, inviting targets for: Infantry with anti-tank devices, bazookas, piats, etc. Aircraft Artillery Molotov Cocktails (gasoline bottles) Anti-Tank mines Improvised explosive devices Friendly fire errors
Tanks were first introduced during World War 1, they were effective in their day, which has since passed. Easily replaced by aircraft with guided weaponry, delivering vast fire power with the ability to hit and run, re-arm and rapidly return to the action. Maximum damages to the enemy, minimal damage to the attacking aircraft. True, some aircraft will be downed, but the ratio of destruction is greatly in favor of the aircraft. |
