| This article is extremely enlightening. Basically, it means we created the problem by not integrating the people with the land that was conquered. For once, Amira, you have made yourself very clear. Now I think we are in front of a fait accompli that benefits no-one, because we created these refugees, and now there is a power struggle going on, whereas had Israel given everyone citizenship, these extremes would not have occurred. It`s the idea of keeping people out, creating gated communities, etc. Had I known... What I did know when I left Iraq, was that the Palestinian problem was insoluble, even as I keenly was aware of my Jewish identity and my Arabic one which has since pratically faded away because of the "Christian" expanse to which I was exposed and in which I had to function and to survive. This didn`t work out for me, and now I am experiencing this feeling of limbo that the Palestinians must be feeling. Now even if you offered them integration, things are too radicalized. |
