I must eat humble pie since you were basically correct in an earlier post about this and I was wrong, so I`m eating my pie. Having said that, this exercise and the silence from the government is definitely Barak`s influence. He is a master military man even if not such a great statesman, and his prowess will prove very useful given the current situations in Gaza and the North. Bringing him back into the fold might be the one good thing Olmert does in his administration. He knows the enemies and spent a career learning how to fight them to win.
