| Christians have always been an important group of Palestinians in the Gaza strip. They could all have left at any time - Israel would have loved the publicity of bringing the Christians to safety! The truth is they didn`t want to leave - in general they do relate perfectly well with the Moslem community, as they always have. Of course there are extremists (maybe not Hamas - Islamic Jihad and others are often responsible for such acts) The official response is that the Hamas government deplores this act and vows to seek out the perpetrators. Are there no horrendous acts in Israel on a daily basis, which are condemned by all Israeli`s? Yes it is an heinous crime and I hope the murderer is caught but let`s get the big picture correct. |
