Although all of the assassinated Lebanese pols were anti-Syria, I have not yet seen a single claim that ANY of them were pro-Israel. For that reason, I must take seriously the statement of Syria`s leader after the first killing that one should ask oneself just who had the most to gain from the killing.
And the answer comes back "Israel" in each case: Simply kill a Lebanese who is of no use to Israel, but openly anti-Syrian and then pin the blame on Syria! That strategy got the Syrian military out of Lebanon in short order, didn`t it? |
