Advocating the deliberate targeting of Lebanese civilians because of the actions of Hezbollah gives justification to those who would target Israeli civilians because of the worst excesses of the Israeli army.
By your rationale if its permissible to exact a bloody price from civilians in Lebanon then it must be OK to go after innocent Israelis when the IDF murders some Palestinian kid throwing a stone at a tank.
Surely the civilised thing to do is accept that noncombatants should not be attacked. The Israeli army fiercly attacked the Lebanese civilian population and infrastructure. Such behaviour is no better or no worse than the suicide bombers murdering young people out for the night in Tel Aviv. |
