Dear Margie, my first worry is that someone even dared to trade with Mathematics or English - especially maths is the subject pupils should be forced to learn without a.n.y. bargaining on each latitude, especially in the country which intends to belong to sth more than 4th world. English similarly.
second thought. Arabs constitute 20% of Israel`s full-rights citizens and they are indigenous. In Finland due to (even much smaller) share of Swedish people, all the Finns are forced to learn Swedish at school! If you don`t force such things from the position of the state, the issue will depend on whether a given school`s headmaster will exhibit nationalistic tendencies or not.
