Hezbollah fighters fought with ferocious and selfless courage in the Second Lebanese War, believing they fought with God alongside them, and prepared to give their lives for what they view as a holy cause. Israel has nothing to match this. Decades of affluence have left the Israeli people soft, cynical, pampered, self-indulgent and self-preserving. There`s rot in Israeli society. No shuffling of the cards by the IDF can save them from this.
