Why did the IDF shoot? Was it following habitual rules of engagement? Have the rules of engagement been revised or altered in any way after Winograd?
According to the IDF, these were drug smugglers. Did the IDF know that after it shot them or before? It is hard for me to come to the notion that shooting at drug dealers, not necessarily terrorists, into Lebanese territory, is neither wise nor appropriate if the aforementioned circumstances are correct.
It isn`t worth it to ignite the border once again, this time by a less than necessary opening of fire into Lebanese territory.
Can somebody provide me with facts to help me understand the specifics of this incident better? |
