Olmert, as human, makes mistakes, and acts on advice from experts, if the IDF General told him that the army was up to the job in Lebanon, he had to take the political decision to go to war or not, he did take it to go to war with the support of many, the opposition included.
The army was not as expected, up to the job, and this was becausse the political establishment failed it, making it to small, and not allocating all the budget it needed in the face af all the threats it has to face.
Olmert has had the courage to admit and accept all the responsability for the failings, many of wich are not his, I admire his courage and his ability as a politician, also he lives and underestands the limits under Israel Lives, and is willing to take the risks for a peace effort that takes care of Israels needs under those limitations, give him support and room to act, politics in war is very dangerous.
