Good Idea. And one which Egypt recommended - and Israel rejected - months ago.
For over 20 years, the number of Egyptian forces required to enforce the border with Gaza was sufficient. Then Israel decided to turn up the heat in Gaza. As any student of physics will tell you that Boyle`s Law means that if you turn up the heat you turn up the pressure.
For utterly idiotic reasons, Israel thought that the increased pressure would blow out at the strongest point - which is the bond between Gazans of the Hamas persuasion and Gazans of all other persuasions.
The blowout occurred on the Gaza-Egypt interface.
This led to horrific consequences which included international humiliation for Israel, glorification of Hamas, and the transmission of arms and terrorists across the Gaza-Egypt interface.
Tzipi Livni, one of the fools guilty of the idiocy which created this problem, and one of the fools who resisted allowing Egypt enough forces to cope with the problem, now wants to deal with it. |
