| Although Egypt is free to "warn Hamas against provocations on the Gaza border", the plain fact is that in any confrontation, Egypt has much, much more to lose due to the Egyptian `street` and the Egypt based Muslim Brotherhood opposition compared to Hamas and the Gaza Palestinians who have nothing to lose. Egypt is very nervous of public opinion, witness the 4th February 2008 shootings at the Rafah border which resulted in Egypt immediately re-opening the border. |
