The hard question is whether or not Hamas is TRYING to get the IDF to invade Gaza. They seem to be working extra hard at it since they managed to smuggle in all the heavy weaponry that their trucks could carry into Gaza. It smells like a trap to me.
Hamas went through a lot of bother to plan weakening the wall, and pre-positioning heavy weaponry in Egypt before they blew the border wall down. Way too much planning for them not to have a plan on how to use these heavy weapons against the IDF.
The break in the Gaza border was not the goal, but the means towards their goal. They have something bigger in mind.
Since Hamas knows better than to launch an offensive into Israel, and have to fight on Israel`s turf. If they want to set a trap for the IDF, they will have to egg on the IDF to invade.
That`s exactly what they are doing now.
Stinks like a trap. |
