Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent: ANALYSIS: Mass Gaza march puts Hamas in a win-win situation
Talkback
Title:No, Durson, Gaza march "win - win" for Israel

The Palestinians have no interest in making peace. If they did, then they would voluntarily stop all attacks against the Israel/Gaza border crossings and against Israeli civilians. Since the Hamas leaders realize that any peace would require a recognition of Israel and a 2-state solution, then to continue firing rockets at civilians in Israel is insane if peace is likely. The Palestinian strategy consists of responding to Israeli settlement activity. This means that Israel will always make moves that provoke a Hamas armed response against civilians that is favorable to Israel. The Palestinian are divided into Fatah and Hamas and both are quite predictable in the responses to Israel, which makes Israel`s job easier. There is not a single peace initiative coming out of the Palestinians. Currently they are engaging in useless talks which were pushed upon them by Bush and the Arab League, and are now a mockery. If Israel has a "win - win" situation, it was handed to them on a silver plate.
