Have you heard about women`s right to choose, and the fact that in the UK abortion is available on demand. So right to life activists are really effective here.
As for Sundays, I can buy whatever I like when I like as the sunday trading laws were relaxed many years ago. Mainly because I could buy a porn magazine, but not a bible under the then existing laws.
I can understand Shas wanting to uphold the morality of the Jewish population of Israel. But what about those who are not Jewish, don`t they have a choice in whether they wish to gamble their money, or access pornography?
Freedom of choice is central to a democracy. I guess Israel is not as democratic as say, Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Syria.
