You are wrong about the preparations of the Israel Foreign Ministry for Durban I. I was a leading member of the delegation and we had participated in the pre-conference drafting meetings and held joint neetings of Jewish organizations - all under the leadership of the Deputy foreign minister Michael Melchior. The work done by the Israeli delegation was thorough and professional. the problem was the organizer of the Durban Conference - Mary Robinson, the UN Human Rights Commissioner, who simply allowed the conference to deteriorate into a lynching, despite my own requests to her and to the UN Secretary General, to prevent it.
You are also mixing up the inter-governmental Durban conference and the NGO conference.
