The land has never been there`s to give up. That`s why the illegal settlements were deemed illegal and therefore cannot lawfully recapture land that doesn`t belong to them in the first place.
Well...not unless we all succumb to this free-for-all approach that Israel is taking in this matter. Yes, they have the right to self-defense; however, actions described as self-defense when a majority of Israelis were in favour of cease-fire talks rather then military incursions into Gaza seems imprudent on the Israeli`s part. Yes, we can all agree that an innocent Israeli died this week yet it is fundamental that we recognize the grossly over-represented loss of palestinian life in this conflict as well. No reconciliation will ever occur if neither side is willing to acknowledge the loss of life as being a terrible injustice to this region`s development. I do not believe that Palestine will ever recover from this without Israeli diplomacy not militant governance. |
