But quite irrelevent as a rebuttal to my post. I was discussing the use of words by Harel to justify a policy that is unjustifiable; the inflicting of collective punishment upon a population to attempt to force it to turn against the militants within its midst. What you are saying that HAMAS are attempting the same and, therefore, that legitimizes Israel`s responding in kind. It. Does. Not. Hamas fires at civilian centres? Yes, it does. That is a war crime? Yes, it is. That allows Israel to respond in kind? No, it does not. Simple, really, but it appears to be beyond you. Beyond Olmert too, by the looks - which is surprising since he tried the very same thing in Lebanon, and it didn`t work there either... |
