I am always amazed at the decision making at the highest levels of government. Starting settlements again achieves nothing. All it does is create terrible PR for Israel. A far better response with a justifiable rational would have been to Shut down the al aqsa mosque indefinitely. If terrorists make it so Jews cannot study Torah without fear of attack, than Arabs cannot be free to pray without the same. And since we do not want to attack innocent praying students as the arabs would the only rational thing is to stop them from praying at the one place most likely to be logically targeted by misguided Jewish zealots seeking revenge. Close al aqsa indefinitely. When Jews feel safe again studying Torah, we can reopen it. Till then, the mosque should be held in trust for the peace loving muslims of the region.
