| The great majority of major orthodox authorities in Jewish law, in the US and Israel and the reject `brain death` as defining death in Judaism (for various reasons), as do authorities at Yeshiva University and elsewhere. Time will tell if the doctors respect the right of the family and maintain life support for those considered brain dead. |
