Haaretz missed the best detail of this story - the rabbinical student (according to local reports) chased the perpetrator out of the subway and up on to the street - where he was hit by a taxi and broke his leg!
Sadly the story didn`t end there, and the brave student was beaten by the remaining attackers. But the image of Ali taunting this fellow only to end up laying on the street with a broken leg did make me smile. OK, maybe that`s a petty reaction, and maybe a better person wouldn`t feel that way... but I never claimed to be that person!
