All,

I hope that the Arab nations keep the Saudi Initiative on the table. It goes farther than any previous proposal but doesn`t go far enough.

Israeli`s have a serious interest in the Holy Basin in East Jerusalem. After the moderate Jordanians trashed Jewish Holy Places during the 1948-1967 period, the Jews can`t trust the Arab World with the Jewish portions of the Holy Basin.

There are 400,000 Jews across the Green Line. It is politically impractical to evacuate them all. An exchange of land of just 3% of the West Bank would reduce the removal to between 50,000 and 80,000 people. This is difficult but more practical (and was reflected in the sample Geneva Agreement.

Israeli acceptance of the Saudi Plan would be an improvement but will not bring peace. Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran continue to demand the extinction of Israel and the ethnic cleansing of all Jews between the River and the Sea.

We have to understand that Israelis will always live with some level of Insecurity.
