From what i can tell the islamic environment is certainly "hostile." I dont necessarily agree with his political stance but his bravery should certainly be admired. Although i personally see a huge difference from the anti-jewish islamic extremists (Islam itself certainly isnt anti-Jewish) and the catholic church, which for many years had no problem with the murder of Jews. But history is for the faint of heart i suppose.
