Building (on paper, as of now)is one thing. Actually populating the housing units is quite another. If one takes the figure cited of 500 buildings, each containing "dozens" (lets say two dozen, on average) units and multiplies by an average family of five, that means that to fill these apartments would require 60,000 people. I don`t know a single person planning to move to the territories, so where is the population going to come from to fill these units?
It seems to me to be a terrible waste of resources in housing stock that could be built on available land well within the green line. Why is it that I strongly suspect a degeree of "smoke and mirrors" here - both from Peace Now and from the settler movements? |
