Unnecessary hysterectomy is one of the most common operations in the US. Studies in the 70s and 80s showed nearly half of all hysterectomies as unnecessary. By the 90s, insurance companies started requiring second surgical opinions, and then a third if the first two didn`t agree. This one procedure was the single largest cause. Now, in addition to the other opinions, most insurance requires pre-approval by a bureaucrat, too.
They don`t go after the MDs in the US, hardly at all. They still let drunk and addicted MDs in California operate and seek treatment in secret. |
