In both cases the armed citizen shot and killed a would be attacker, saved Jewish lives and was commended by the IDF for his actions. In parallel, the Israeli government is again arming the PA which has taken these weapons and killed Israelis with them. A few recent examples would be the shooting deaths of Ido Zoldan, Ahikam Amihai and David Rubin. I think one can safely make the generalization that residents of Binyamin, if left with their weapons will use them in self defense while those in the hands of the PA will more likely be used sooner or later in offense against Israeli citizens or soldiers. Specifically in light of the fact that the PA is being armed in the Jenin, Nablus and other areas in Binyamin,the Security Minister must fulfill the obligation of his office and make sure that the local citizenry is not left defenseless.
