One, the length of both roads are punctuated with markers at the sites where Jews have been gratuitously murdered in cold blood. Two, checkpoints have been removed taking away the IDF presence and making travel on these roads and living in the communities that they lead to dangerous. All the while I had in the back of my mind that the IDF is pulling out and the citizenry is being forcibly disarmed. Tragedy can`t be far behind.
The government`s policy might be to negotiate away all of these lands. That should not concern your actions as Security Minister. 200,000 Israelis live in these areas and they can not be left as free game for would be terrorists to advance the political goals of any particular government. Every Israeli citizen deserves to live in security and as Internal Security Minister it is your Job to provide that security.
