Gaza was evacuated -thousands of people uprroted from the very homes the government promised never to give up- Settlers "armed to the teeth," as you put it, fired not a single shot. That spece has since been a lunching pad for over 8,0000 rockets into Israel. Rabin was killed by a lone gunman. So was Lincoln. Disarming people who are the only buffer between the secular homebodies of Tel Aviv et al. and the Palestinian terrorists who make no practical distinction between the "settlers" in Sderot, Jaffa, Ashkelon and those were I live is stupid at best, malevolent at worst. Our current government has lost any grasp it might have ever had on why there should be a Jewish state. Their policies are foolish and morally bankrupt. Anyone with a memory longer than a nanosecond knows that peace is decades off. The Palestinians are nowehere near ready to run a state - and you wouldn`t want them next door. |
