It makes no difference that the Arabs rejected it in 1948(they saw it as unjust,56%land to 33% jews!).Resolution 181,the Paritition Resolution of 1947 is still there in the books.Since it called for the establishment of 2 states,the jewish & the Arab,both must be established before the Partition Resolution is extinguished.israel accepted it in 1947.Presently it is in non compliance of that.In a way,israel`s own legal basis depends on its recognition of a Palestine state,which it has steadily refused since 1988 when the PLO Declared Independence.120 states recognised it.The Europeans promised de jure recognition.The votes for admission are still there.Only israel&us refused recognition. |
