I am pleased that the test was a success. I hope Israel never has to use it.
Smaller missiles without high trajectories are still a problem. The radar can spot them (as seen from the Israeli warning system), but they can`t yet be stopped.
There has been a lot of talk about the Iron Dome (good beyond 4 km), the Phalanx (used to protect the US Navy and some bases) and the Nautilus systems.
I hope Israel can develop a layered defense against long range threats (Arrow, PAC 3), short range and ultra short range threats.
A secure Israeli population will be more willing to sacrifice for peace. A population under attack (Qassams from Gaza, Katyushas from Hezbollah and terrorism) is less likely to withdraw from part of the WB. |
