| During the course of each of Israels wars in Lebanon, the IDF bombed and killed UN personnel. They then refused to cooperate with the UN investigations. Remember, during the early days of the current UNIFIL mission, a number of UN commanders, on land and on sea, complained of the threatening passes made upon their units by Israeli jets. In this fashion, Israel prepared UNIFIL for daily IAF intrusions into Lebanon, in violation of resilution 1701. Israel was daring UNIFIL to do something about their violations and UNIFIL backed down. Ultimately, this will not be the case with Hizbollah. When the war breaks out you UNIFIL members better get out of the way fast or you are certain to get hurt. |
