The purported overhead photos of the supposed wrecked `reactor` showed what may have been objects in the square hole.

These objects were jumbled and it is not clear if they were lying hither-tither, or what.

Nor is it clear the shadow patterns were consistent.

Shadow patterns are very important in overhead imaging. Want to know how tall something is, say a building or exhaust stack?

Simple geometry. You know the location on a sphere. You know the location of the sun, to that sphere, and the location of the camera to the object upon the sphere.

Just measure the shadow and trigonometry will provide the height of the object.

Still what is most striking is what is missing if this was a Magnox reactor for Plutonium production.
