In 1933, The Gurdian was already reporting about the newly opened concentration camp for the left, the torture that were perpetrated, about the rigged run-off election of the Nazi party, about the antisemitism, the racial laws. Those that could have known, closed their eyes, and those that needed to know were never informed. The tragedy of Hitler is that so many did not take him seriously. Those that did take him seriously, just plain adored him.
