Whenever I think of the Tsahal ribbons I wear proudly I think of the tattoos of holocaust survivors. I earned my ribbons as one of a free people in our own land. The survivors endured far longer than any of us in the army and suffered more than any of us can imagine.
I always think of those tattoos as the most memorable and important symbols of our people. For a son to forever bear a copy of his father`s tattoo is a moving testament of his love and devotion to his father. |
