| Just run the clock out on Rice. This is the Condoleeza Rice who arrogantly convinced Bush the US should pressure Israel to let Hamas run in elections against Abbas, despite the fact that Hamas was ineligible, since it rejected Israel`s right to exist (with any borders). She convinced Bush Hamas would lose, and the way would be paved for accelerated final status talks. Her theory didn`t quite work out. So now while Hamas is waging terrorist war against Israel, rejecting any permanent peace and recognition of Israel, and with NO chance Abbas can remove Hamas, Rice now wants Israel to rescue her from the mess she made. Her thinking is Israel should promise some kind of borders to the PA as a guaranteed "minimum", while Abbas`s Al Aksa Brigades and Hamas continue to fight to try to sweeten the final deal by terrorism - the Arafat plan. All without requiring the PA to explicitly recognize Israel`s right to exist as a Jewish State. Waste of time: Olmert can`t sell (or sign) that deal. |
