Gandi was wrong, as are most people who try to predict the future. The Jews of Germany died and it profited them and us nothing but garnered for us the loss of their talent and enlightenment. Antisemitism exists in Europe apart from Israel`s actions.
As most leftists, Magnes looked at the behavior of the Jews without reference to the behavior of "the other." He lied to himself for the sake of saving the Jewish soul. Darwin would not have agreed with Gandi or Magnes. The soul needs a body in which to exist and Israel provides the safety for both the Jewish body and soul. |
