| Even at this remove, the barriers and roadblocks game is obvious. Israel promises to remove 60 of the 580 in the West Bank, and actually removes 41. But 6 weeks later there are over 600. The net effect is no improvement in removing the obstacles to Palestinian travel or commerce. What are Palestinians giving up? Mostly the hope of having a non-duplicitous negotiating partner in the Israeli government. And it is the Israeli government who is rejecting a cease fire on the Gaza border. |
