| As the death of arch-terrorist Mughniyeh in Damascus shows, even Meshal and Marzouk can be hit. To "decaptitate" the leadership in Syria would strike a tremendous blow against Hamas by isolating it to Gaza and crippling its ability to secure external (Iranian, etc) support. The repercussions among all Palestinians would be significant, however, as even Abbas and Fatah would be forced to fake sorrow and anger. Still, the long term effect of cutting down Hamas` reach and influence is probably worth it. |
