War is war, and we are in a state of war. During WW II, many American citizens of German ancestry were routinely followed and investigated by the FBI. If an American married a German citizen during WW II, it was not very easy for that German to gain citizenship. But if the war in the Middle East ends, and if the Arab world really accepts Israel as a friend, then the borders can be as open as in the EU.
