The Jewish Task Force based in New York are making great play on the fact that Barak Obama is Black, and may have attended a Moslem School. Not exactly a neutral stance. Especially for an organisation which states it has 300,000 members.
It is much more likely that American Jews are maintaining a lower profile than usual because an increasing number of Americans are linking the invasion of Iraq with Israeli foreign policy in the region.
Even Prez Bush has stated one of the reason he ordered the invasion of Iraq was because of Saddam`s sponsorship of suicide bombings in Israel. Good news for Jews in new York and other places, but Mrs Smith in Ohio who lost her son in Iraq is just a little pissed and so are her family. |
