The West backs these, the East backs those and the Germans observe the war like they watch a football game. Recently it has been France that broke its ties with Syria leaving it even more to Iranian influence. Or remember when Assad said Olmert had offered the return of the Golan, a few hours later the US published their "revelations" about the Syrian reactor that wasn`t even more. Neither the US, nor Iran are interested in lives of people in the region, only in their agendas. Germany sells technology to Iran, the Deutsche Presseagentur being quick with reporting about the outcomes of their deals, and Sarkozy, besides of course selling nulear technology to everyone, breaks the little diplomatic influence he could have had on Syria.
Well then, Israelis, Lebanese, Palestinians, don`t worry: we`ll closely watch your next carnage, maybe occasionally meddling when we think someone`s being extraordinarily unfair or with Condi Rice popping up in the region when she thinks her image needs it. |
