| The point of the Chief Rabbinate is to keep marriages and divorces according to Halacha and stopping problems of mamzerus. There is certainly no reason Conservative and Reform should not operate in Israel, but we can`t have three Chief Rabbinates. Israel is built on the British model of an Orthodox Chief Rabbinate that works behind the scenes with all sections of the Jewish community, from secular to Charedi. |
