Yadlin says Hezbollah has violated the Taif agreement.

But others have violated that agreement for the last 19 years.

One thing Hezbollah wants is a new election law. Here`s what Taif says: 5. Until the Chamber of Deputies passes an election law free of secterian restriction, the parliamentary seats shall be divided according to the following bases: a. Equally between Christians and Muslims. [other clauses omitted here]

The Christians are a few as 33% of the electorate, yet they are guaranteed 50% of the parliament.

Hezbollah wants a new election law, as promised 19 years ago, to restore fairness to Lebanese elections. Surely those in Israel and the West dedicated to democracy can`t object.
