| Olmert`s entire public and professional life has been based on misleading the public. Its his specialty. Why would anybody be surprised? That he was receiving secret "campaign funds" when there was no campaign going on is slam-dunk for any prosecutor. No excuse for delaying an indictment. Utterly preposterous for Talansky to claim he "didn`t know" it was illegal to do that in Israel; why would a donor to both Democrats and the Republicans imagine that Israeli election contribution rules are any different from those in the US, including the requirement that donations be made to campaign committees, NOT via fat envelopes of cash handed directly to the politician. Not credible. It`s obvious that Talansky (called "the laundryman" by Olmert`s staff!!) was acting as paymaster for some party running Olmert for its benefit, but who? Given Talansky`s secretive background, no photos, no history, phony business front - my money is on The Company. Only Tenet could be that reckless and stupid. |
