The fundamental problem in Lebanon is that the political power is rigidly distributed upon the questionable results of a demographic survey made over 60 years ago.
The demographics of Lebanon have drastically changed since then.
And, yet, the legislature and government continue to represent only what is now a minority of Lebanese.
The grid-lock of the Lebanese government is a direct result of the inability of the Hariri family to accept any real participation in the nation`s economy or politics (same thing) by the Shiite.
The Sunni are bystanders, and the Druze, as always, a despised minority. |
